A George V silver salver by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd, Sheffield 1919, of circular form with Chippendale style border, on three scroll feet, engraved crest to centre depicting a lion holding a cross and motto 'VINCIT VERISTAS', 35.7cm wide, weight 51.48ozt
Overall condition is good. The centre is quite heavily scratched. The central engraving has some wear, mostly on the lettering, but is largely clear and is legible. Border is in good order, with general scratching and wear only. Feet are in good order, with moderate wear to the contact points, Base is heavy scratched, but hallmarks and engraved lettering is crisp. There is a patch to the reverse of a slightly different colour and lustre (please see pictures for reference). No signs of thinning or splitting to any area of the plate.
