A late 19th century carved oak coal/ash box, each side finely carved with three panels of floral and foliate urns, one with central figure, the top carved with mythical dolphins, fruits and nuts, the fall front with carved rectangular panel, having classical decoration, topped by two mythical face masks and having ribbed and domed handle, opening to reveal a removable steel slopping square box with brass handle to outer and twin loop handles to inner, raised on porcelain castors to pad feet, 15 x 12 ¾in. (38.1 x 32.4cm.), 22 3/8in. (57cm.) high. * Back right castor bracket needing attention, very light surface marks, nice patina.
