Adrian Jeanes (British, Contemporary) - ' Katja IV ' - An original 21st century graphite pencil on paper nude drawing of lady. Signed & titled in pencil to bottom. Mounted, framed & glazed. Measures approx. 64cm x 27cm.
From Adrian's website: Graphite pencil is the only medium used, and absolutely no computer manipulation what-so-ever has been employed.
My non-professional models are either friends or work colleagues, and I direct and shoot my own photographic reference material.
I usually use three to five pics - each shot under different lighting conditions - and these are arranged around the drawing board, which is balanced precariously on my lap. This is the only way I can work, so unfortunately, due to the length of my arms, this determines the overall maximum finished size of a drawing to approximately 63cm.
Each study takes between 30 and 80 hours to complete, depending on size, complexity, and of course, other commitments.
Although, I have always considered drawing to be my hobby, I was very fortunate to have been invited to exhibit at Bristol and Bath, and then at Toronto and New York. This exposure has since led to commission work and the very welcome offers of modelling.
