Three good late 19th c to c 1910 evening bags: the first, of chain mesh, with very large and decorative heavy front panel set with paste stones, filigree, a filagree butterfly in relief, bobbles hanging from the bottom edge, fitted with a metal chain surmounted with another filigree butterfly set with stones, on a long tongue to fit over a belt, in chatelaine fashion, height approx. 18cm; together with a woven metal bead bag in mainly gold and shades of pink, looped bead fringe, the metal frame embossed and fitted with a metal chain; and a woven bead purse with black ground and silver design of a peacock perched on a branch amid blossom, the silver metal frame decoratively pierced and fitted with a chain strap (3)
The first bag has some damage to the mesh
Just below the left edge of the heavy front panel. The second bag is slightly worn under the bottom points of the frame, at the sides. The final bag is missing a few black beads just above the highest of the roses.
