JEAN JACQUES FIEFFE, A LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY FRENCH BRONZE ORMOLU CARTEL WALL CLOCK
Having a classical form urn finial, torch supports and acorn mounts, the circular dial having Roman and Arabic number markings, inscribed 'Fieffe Del'Observatoires', the brass movement inscribed 'Fieffe Paris' and mask to pendulum.

N.B. Jean Jaques Fieffe was clockmaker to the Paris Observatoire obtaining some of his clock cases from the best gilded bronze foundry chasers including Jean Joseph de St Germain (1719 - 1791), Jacques Caffieri (1678 - 1755) and Phillipe Caffieri (1714 - 1774)

Condition: good, bottom glazed panel absent
