A Southern Railway signal box nameboard, TIPTON ST JOHNS, (flangeless), from the Sidmouth Junction to Sidmouth and Exmouth branch. The box stood at the divergence of the two lines and is well illustrated in the book From Salisbury to Exeter, The Branch Lines, by Derek Phillips, OPC, 2000, page 166. The branch closed in 1967.
