A VERY GOOD QUALITY EARLY 20TH CENTURY OAK ROLL-TOP ‘TAMBOUR’ FRONT KNEE HOLE DESK, circa 1920’s, this style of desk was first designed in the late Victorian period and became very popular at the start of the 20th century. The desk is raised on a pair of twin pedestals; each with a row of graduated drawers having wooden cup handles; 8 drawers in total. The top rolls back to reveal compartments within, including drawers and storage. A single drawer can be found just above the knee-hole for further storage. Condition: excellent, some staining to the desk-top from use, but commensurate with the age & use of the item. Dimensions: 101.6cm tall x 106.7cm wide x 68cm deep, height of knee-hole 68.6cm.
