1743 King George II silver Halfcrown with 'DECIMO SEPTIMO' edge (S 3694, ESC 603a, Bull 1684). Obverse: older draped laureate bust of George, facing left with lion detail to his armoured shoulder and 'GEORGIUS · II · DEI · GRATIA ·' around. Reverse: crowned cruciform shields of royal arms with a garter star in the centre and roses in the angles. The date (1743) is divided by the crown above the conjoined English and Scottish arms and precedes a legend that reads 'M · B · F · ET ·  H · REX · F · D · B · ET · L · D · S · R · I · A · T · ET · E ·'. Edge: raised lettering reads 'DECVS · ET · TVTAMEN · ANNO REGNI · DECIMO · SEPTIMO'. Weight: 15.02g. Diameter: 33.4mm. Grade: EF - Extremely Fine or slightly better.
