U.S.A.: Maysville & Lexington Rail Road Co., Northern Division, $50 shares, 18[72], #426, steam train at top, black, stamped cancelled. Incorporated in Kentucky in 1850 connecting Maysville on the Ohio River with Lexington. Operated until 1856 when it failed and was reformed as two separate companies - Northern Division and Southern Division. The former was shortened to North Division about 1876. Both were eventually incorporated into the Louisville & Nashville RR. VF.
