A large Chinese Neolithic pottery jar, Caiyuan Culture (c.2600-2200 BC), with Oxford TL Test, the upper surface burnished the lower surface has been simply yet very effectively decorated with repeated cord impressions that spiral downwards, 40cm high, 32cm diameter
In exceptional condition for a large four-thousand year-old pottery jar with the only repair being to the vulnerable mouth. This jar has been tested by Oxford Authentications, the ONLY testers of ancient pottery accepted by ALL major dealers, auction houses and museums worldwide, and the Thermoluminescence Analysis Report that will accompany this item is shown; this confirms the date of manufacture as "between 3,400 and 5,200 years ago". Jars such as this look superb in a modern setting as well as in any serious collection of ancient Chinese pottery.
