A 19th century German deed (?) box with deeply carved mahogany armorial lid, panelled and bearing plumed knights helmet on shield in wreath, the shield bearing 3 turret bridge/ 4 F's reversed and inverted in wreath/ crossed swords and "21 VI.82. EM", all in studded strapwork panels, silver escutcheon inside lid engraved in script "Der A.T-V Markomannia. i/werthen Dr. E. Goldmann aus Dankbarkeit S.1887.S. D,. frell. Erinnerung", 15" x 19" x 4". GC (interior partitions removed)
