A Victorian papier-mache work box, of serpentine outline, with shallow domed hinged lid above a pair of hinged doors, enclosing a fitted interior of cotton reel holders, thimble, with three graduated drawers for jewellery and a folding writing slope, on a shaped base, the front decorated with a castle scene with gilt floral decoration overall. 31cm wide, 31cm high, 28cm deep.
Overall condition is fair to good. Inlaid decoration is in fair order. Fittings to the interior are incomplete. drawers and writing surface is in good order. There is a chip to the underside back right hand corner of the lid.
