1821 Pattern Attributed Light Cavalry Officer's Sword


35 1/2 inch, single edged, slightly curved, pipe back, quill point blade.  Etched crowned VR cypher.  Foliage scroll panels and owner's coat of arms.  The forte etched "Reeves Greaves & Greaves Sword Manufacturers To Her Majesty, Hon Board Of Ordnance And The Hon East India Comp.  Bartholomew's St Birmingham".  Steel, three bar guard and downswept quillon.  Steel, stepped pommel and plain backstrap.  Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding.  Some pitting to blade tip.  


Attributed to Astley or Beaumont Corbett.
