An 18ct gold open-faced pocket watch the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, blued-steel spade hands and a subsidiary seconds dial, the three-quarter plate movement having a lever escapement with the balance cock engraved with the mark for the Coventry Watch Co, with the backplate engraved From his Mother, June 4th 1886, the case hallmarked for 18ct gold, London 1884, repeated to the inner cuvee, along with the case makers initials AM possibly Alexander Macrae, diameter 48mm, gross weight c.98.58gs.
