RARE COIN: A SILVER GEORGE II HALF-CROWN, dated 1745. Obverse: showing a mature bust of the king, wearing armour with the face of a lion on the shoulder epaulette. The word ‘LIMA’ appears below; indicating that the coin was struck from silver, captured from Spanish treasure ships. The silver apparently originated in Peru, hence the LIMA inscription. Reverse: shows a crowned shield of royal arms, arranged in a cruciform pattern with a garter star to the centre. Weight: 15grams
