A CHARLES I INLAID OAK CANTED CUPBOARD, YORKSHIRE, LEEDS/HALIFAX, CIRCA 1630. The plank top above raised nulled frieze rails supported by gadrooned and acanthus carved bulbous supports, flanking a splay sided cabinet with floral and bird inlaid door, matching side panels all with egg and dart perimeter mouldings, divided by floral interlace carved uprights, above a twin doored lower cabinet with a floral geometric frieze centred by the owner triad of initials E R S, the twin large doors further inlaid with carnations, tulips and paired birds, all flanked by grape and vine carved uprights finishing in a concentric swirl, the lower rail carved in floral scrollwork, 153cm wide 141cm high 52.5cm deep Provenance - Original stock of Beedham Antiques at Ivy House Antiques, Baslow, 1974.
