A Japanese Bijin Shamisen player okimono, (late Meiji 1868-1912/Taisho 1912-26), the carved ivory figure modelled in standing position holding a shamisen, standing on a carved wooden base, signed to base, height 16.5cm.

Small cracks to the back of the circular base.
Good colour to the ivory throughout, slight yellowing at the back of the figure.
Small nibbles to the relief area of the chignon.
