SPLIT SIZE ENGLISH ONION. 5.4ins tall. Heavy black glass freeblown English onion, c. 1710. Crude overall form with sloping tapering neck topped with a magnificent (completely intact) string rim below the re-annealed lip. Deep kick up featuring a good pontil section. An absolute gem of its type. A particularly significant rare offering. Being picky there is some minor wear but in truth extremely good. (9/10) NR
