Victorian silver prize cup and cover, the lid with horse finial, raised on stem with four masks, makers marks WH, possibly William Hunter, London 1865, 27cm tall, 802g gross. 
The cup comes with a note detailing the winners of the 'Governor's Cup'. The Governor's Cup was first presented by Rear Admiral Sir Charles Elliot and was called the Elliot Cup. The race was opened to horses which were bona fide the property of residents of Trinidad. The Winner of the race received a cup valued 40 pounds Sterling presented by the then Governor Rear Admiral Sir Charles Elliot KCB.
