8th Kings Royal Irish Hussars Victorian attributed Officer Sabretache circa 1855-61. A fine rare short lived example attributed to Major Arthur Mark Crofton, who served in 8th Kings Royal Irish Hussars from 1852 to 1857. The crimson Melton face, bordered with one inch shamrock pattern gold lace, bears gold wire embroidered Guelphic crown on THE KINGS ROYAL HUSSARS scroll over silver wire ornate VR cypher bearing padded gold wire Royal Crest over VIII with Maid of Erin Harp below flanked by shamrock embellished Crimean battle honours. Complete with crimson Morocco leather backing and pocket, retaining closure tongue Fitted with three gilt metal D ring attachments for slings. Minor service wear. Generally VGC.
