A large Zsolnay eosin glaze model of a tiger reclining on a rock, inscribed Tigus regalis to the front, monogrammed to the front for Sandor Apati Abt, seal mark, painted Made in Hungary and impressed 6153 35, length 47cm.
No chips, cracks or restoration. Some patch crazing, mainly to the body.
The painted Made in Hungary looks to be a later edition and written over the glaze in a later hand.
The vendor purchased this in the 1990s in Camden Passage.
We are unsure as to date and therefore do not wish to speculate.
