An early 20th-century opal half-hoop ring in 18ct gold, featuring five graduated cabochon opals, of medium spectral play-of-colour on a translucent background, leading to a court-shaped shank, rubbed hallmarks, size M; together with a Victorian base metal brooch, featuring seven fob seals, each engraved with a day of the week, leading to a later-added base metal bow brooch; total weighable: 2.4 grams damage to the base of one of the seals
