SEVEN ROYAL CROWN DERBY DESSERT PLATES, in the Lichfield shape, pattern no 3179, with heavily gilt scalloped rims and gilt foliate motifs, printed dedication verso reads 'Presented to William Bemrose Esq. JP by the Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Co Ltd, to commemorate the grant of Royal by Her Majesty as a token of thanks for long continued interest in the Works. Being one of the first services bearing the new mark and the Royal Arms. 1890', William Bemrose (1831-1908) was a director of (Royal) Crown Derby and a writer on the themes of art, woodcarving and pottery, diameter 22.5cm (7) (Condition Report: all appear in good condition, signs of little use, no obvious damage)
