ENGLISH MALLET WINE BOTTLE. 7.6ins tall, Black/ dark green glass, c. 1730-40, deep kick up, rough pontil. Crude string rim, minor decorking inner lip flake. A true English mallet - a word much misused but this example very clearly featuring a very square type body with long tapering neck - not often seen so distinctively shaped thus. Full body sheen.
