TRANSATLANTIC UNPAID USAGE OF 'THE TIMES' TO CANADA WITH HS "1d" & "MEIKLEOUR" VILLAGE UDC; Remarkable usage of the 23 Feb. 1852 'Times' (the first large sheet; folded to fit album-page; slight toning and edge wear) from Scotland to "P. Wallace Esq., Coburg, Canada West" with a fine blue-green "MEIKLEOUR" UDC (Perthshire) beside the address, also having a very fine Handstruck "1d" in black nearby (probably struck in Liverpool). Rare example of a newspaper sent from a village PO and at the 1d Transatlantic rate. Exhibition Item.
