** HAITI/FRANCE (THE 7 YEARS WAR) - P.O.W. CORRESPONDENCE; Three ELs from the Gobbe Correspondence regarding prisoner exchange and repatriation. A 20 Aug. 1759 EL from "le Duc Delorge" in "Bordeaux" but posted in nearby Lesparre-Medoc to Gobbe's father in Redon charged "16" (via Rennes) with an unrecorded (?) P.O. manuscript "Lesparre" on the front regarding prisoner exchange; a 5 May 1762 EL from "NANTES" (faint s. line on front) ex Gobbe, soon after his return to France from prison, to his father in Redon charged "4" sols; and a 3 June 1767 EL from Gobbe in "Saint Marc, Isle de St. Domingo" (the small port on the western coast of Haiti) to Redon charged "10" (from La Rochelle via Nantes) with a mainly fine "COL.N.PAR/LA ROCHELLE" on the front and endorsed "Par le vessau L'Enriette de la Rochelle QDG & PABP" on the reverse.
