TO JAPAN - RARE 4d-RATE COVER WITH G.B. 2d ROSE-RED PAIR TIED BY "MALTA/A25" DUPLEX; Fine 15 June 1882 env. from Malta to Tokyo (same correspondence as the pervious lot) with GB 2d Rose-Red Pair (somewhat faded - probably prior to use) tied by a mainly very fine "C/MALTA/A25" taller Duplex, having various Italian and Japanese backstamps (incl. Yokohama). Rare; early ingoing covers from Malta to Japan such as this are seldom seen.
