A late 19th century Flemish Continental carved stained oak hall monk's settle bench. The bench decorated with sea related subjects. The settle having a high carved back with three panels to the centre depicting mermaids, ships & buildings all surrounded by foliate geometric patterns. The back flanked by hand carved figures of women over straight elbow rests ending with dragon's head. Raised on carved straight supports. Measures approx. 115cm x 120cm x 55cm.
