£460
A GEORGE III IRISH SILVER GALLERIED OVAL STAND, maker Christopher Haines, Dublin 1785, the cast and applied rim over foliate and rosette pierced bands enclosing bright cut engraved foliate swags with six pierced rosettes and two oval panels engraved with an armorial, fixed on to a mahogany base with four turned feet, 14 1/2" wide (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)
Surprisingly no repairs, just a minor loss and split on rim which curls over the wood below one armorial panel. Rim and base have matching marks. The base has four screw holes - presumably to support a frame perhaps for decanters?
