The MGB GT was introduced in October 1965, and production continued until 1980. The MGB GT sported a ground-breaking design by Pininfarina and launched the sporty hatchback style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear boot lid, the B GT offered the utility of an Estate Car, while retaining the style and shape of a Coupe. This new configuration was a 2+2 design with a right-angled rear bench seat and far more luggage space than in the roadster. The MGB GT did receive different suspension springs and anti-roll bars and a different windscreen which was more easily and inexpensively serviceable. Although acceleration of the GT was slightly slower than that of the roadster, owing to its increased weight, top speed improved by 5 mph to 105 mph because of better aerodynamics.
1975 MGB GT road race evocation in classic BMC iris solid blue with BMC white knock on wire wheels and new chrome spinners. The car is showing only 33,000 miles, and looking at the condition of this MGB, this could well be correct. The car comes with the registration document, new MOT, old MOTs, and service bills. The car is described by the vendor as a stunning example that attracts attention wherever it goes, and to drive very well. The interior is in very good condition, and complements the rest of the car.
The owner of this car has had extensive work carried out to achieve this sporty look, which includes strip down and repaint, new front windscreen rubbers, new headlamps and front indicators, new door handles, high quality racing mirrors, bespoke racing grill in white, Sebring performance front valance, Sebring rear valance, Sebring fast fuel cap, rear number plate light, period racing style number plates, racing roundel decals, new front springs, new service, new battery, and more.
Overall this car offeres a good opportunity to own a ready to go British sports car at a sensible price.
