Piety in late Georgian England, East Sussex - an early 19th century ink manuscript commonplace book cum devotional narrative, inscribed throughout with Christian prayers, maxims and sentiments, occasionally alluding to Biblical scripture, presumably by a native of East Sussex, on November 24th, 1826, on page 64 (of 74pp, unpaginated) they write from the top Cliff Hill and proceed to cite the local topography, overlooking Lewes, Kingston, Spital Mill, Bormer Racecourse, the Chalk Pits, and Offham Mills, each of their further testimonies is dated and in places their piety goes into poetic rhapsody, contemporary calf over original wrappers, only the upper-cover retains some marbled paper, 12mo, [1]
