EAGLE FRANKING TO CUBA/FRANCE; 11 Oct. 1870 E (few stains and tears; mainly on rear) 'p Steamer Anglais' to Santiago de Cuba franked imperf. 20c + 40c (marginal) both four margins, slightly overlapped and jointly dotted by a diamond lozenge cancel, French Pointe a Pitre Packet cds and "GUADELOUPE/PAID" cds on front. Very rare destination and franking. Rear with a St Thomas transit cds and a handstruck "1" real local charge made on arrival. Ex Grabowski and Apr. 1871 E (file folds) 'voie d'Angleterre' to Nantes franked vert. strip of three 20c Eagle + 2 x 5c, variable margins and tied to the front or each other by lozenge grid cancels. Pointe a Pitre cds and framed "PD" mark also on front and representing the 70c British Packet rate plus three c.1890 printed matter envs. to Bordeaux or Pointe a Pitre franked 4c + 1c, 2c or 1c pair.
