An 18th Century Guernsey pot capacity pewter flagon by Ann Carter, the heart shaped cover with twin acorn thumb pieces to touch marks, two bands of fillets below on circular flared base, height 29cm.
Provenance - Ex Woolmer collection.
NB - Most Guernsey measures appear to have been made in England. This example bears the heraldic device 'A POSSE AD ESSE', the marks of Ann Carter, however noted is the touchmark of 'SM' and 'LONDON' mark to lid belong to Simon Morrant, Ann Carter's business successor.
