Estimate

£150 - £250

Fees

A pair of French opera glasses by Chevalier of Paris, 19th century, the porcelain barrels hand painted with swagged floral borders and floral panels outlined with blue jewelled beading against a cobalt blue ground, in a soft leather case, the unextended barrels 6.5cm long

More Information

The glasses are in generally good condition, showing minor wear to the porcelain barrels and tarnishing and wear to the brass fittings. The screw securing the eye pieces to the focussing mechanism has a tendency to work loose as the focussing ring is rotated, making focussing difficult unless the screw is re-tightened.
