WW1 Leicestershire Regiment Attributed Wolseley Pattern Foreign Service Helmet. A good example attributed to RQMS E J Horner of the 1st Bn Leicestershire Regiment. The helmet is of the regulation pattern, to the left side a regimental pattern pagri badge. The interior retains leather sweatband, and inscription "BDSM HORNER E 1/LEIC 1915". Also the name of the previous owner " G MORGAN". Some service wear. Chinstrap absent. The vendor has attributed the helmet to Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant Ernest J Horner who was recalled to the Regiment at the outbreak of the Great War. It is possible that the rank shown in the helmet indicates Battalion Disciplinary Sergeant Major.
