Bruce, George (St Andrews) - "Destiny and Other Poems" 1st edition 1876 - authors edition c/w illustrations "several of which are by the new calotype process, the negatives by Mr Rodger which were taken specially for this work" in the original decorative gilt and embossed boards and spine - see pages 318 - 323 "A Piece of Rhyme upon Golf - To the St Andrews Golf Club" containing praise for Allan Robertson, "a golfing celebrity of his day" (recited before the half yearly meeting in June 1852), and see pages 489-492 "In Memory of Young Tom Morris - The Champion Golfer of the World" together with illustration of Old and Young Tom Morris by Rodgers - plus other illustrations, fully gilt edged pages - slight shelf wear to the top and tail of spine otherwise a quite stunning copy and hard to fault in fact it appears unread (VG) From the late David Easby Estate
