British Naval officer's dress sword, the ricasso with makers mark of JR Gaunt (Late Edward Thurkle) of London and Birmingham, the straight fullered blade is etched with designs including fouled anchor, coat of arms and oak leaf and acorn sprays, the blade spine stamped 14118, gilt brass Gothic type hilt with RNR (Royal Naval Reserve) cartouche, wire bound shagreen drip, the pommel of lion head form, blade length 79cm, sword length 94cm, complete with scabbard.
