A 19th Century water jug decorated with a two scenes of Johnson's XXX Tunstall Brewery with text beneath the spout, height 21cm, together with a farming harvest jug with the motto 'He that by the plough would thrive himself must either hold or drive' beneath the spout, height 17cm, both S/D. (2)

The Johnson's XXX jug has a stained bruise beneath the text with radiating hairlines. There is some rubbing to the gilding. The farming jug has interior staining with has seeped through to the foot rim and lower. Hairline to the spout with a crude repair.
