George IV 1822 Infantry Pattern Sword. A good scarce early example of the pattern. The slightly ciurved piped back blade with etched pannel of a GIVR cypher and cuttlers details of Prosser London. The hilt with gilt open guard with crowned GIVR cypher and retaining black leather lining. The shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with leather and gilt metal mounted scabbard, these fitted with loose rings, the top mount with the addition of a frog button. Overall near VGC, blade clean, etching clear, gilt bright.
