Hidari Jingoro was known as an artist of prodigious skill and stories of his genius abound in Japanese popular literature. According to one, he saw a woman of exceptional beauty and created a sculpture of her. Jingoro begins to drink in the company of the sculpture, and it begins to imitate his moves. When a mirror is placed before the sculpture, the woman's spirit comes to life.
Several pinholes. Vertical fold marks on each panel. Horizontal centrefold on central panel. Some blue and red pigment.
