OVAL "PORT.LOUIS/POST.PAID" ON COVER TO FRANCE WITH "COLONIES PAR/BORDEAUX": 4 Dec. 1816 E from Port Louis to Bordeaux with fine locally made British oval "PORT.LOUIS/POST.PAID" on the front slightly overstruck by "COLONIES PAR/BORDEAUX" (mostly fine) entry mark. The filing notes show that this letter took 139 days to reach France. Very attractive.
