A VICTORIAN MOTHER OF PEARL INLAY VANITY AND JEWELLERY BOX, the fitted interior with silver plate mounted glass jars and bottles, a secret side drawer fitted for jewellery, the lid with mirror and letter rack, mother of pearl escutcheon and cartouche, no key, there is a clip to the green velvet interior of the lid to reveal a mirror and letter store, there are thirteen compartments comprising eight cut crystal jars, four with glass stoppers, three with silverplate screw tops, one jar is not an original to the box, one jar is missing has a silver top monogrammed AR, hallmarked London 1878, the inner tray lifts out to reveal a secret storage area underneath, the outer case is decorated with a foliate mother of pearl design with a central rearing horse design, width 30.5cm x depth 22.5cm x height 16cm (1) (Condition Report: one glass jar is missing, worn silverplate lids, missing scissors and tweezers, a few scratches and bumps to the exterior, missing key)
