An Ottoman Empire Turkish polychrome pottery jug, of pear shape with attached handle and flared neck, 26.5cm high (at fault)

Provenance: The Estate of Lord Kenyon, Gredington.

The piece shows surface crazing throughout with a hairline crack at the base of the handle. The rim shows a 2cm loss with further small chips, nibbles and glazing losses. The handle shows multiple glazing losses, the largest 2cm long. The body shows an unglazed firing pit below the handle, and multiple glazing losses, some over-painted. The foot rim shows extensive losses to approximately 1/3 of its circumference, with further small chips and nibbles.
