Oil on board, of a girl in Elizabethan dress, with rosemary beads , in landscape with castle in background, approx 22cm L x 18cm wide: Provenance from Vendor: This was till a year ago in the collection/estate of Sir George ALBU , 1st Baronet , along with Cecil Rhodes and Sir Alfred Beit one of the famous SA Mining "RANDLORDS" of the late 19th C. Vendor acquired this last year in South Africa , where he had spent 20 years buying UK art. The Auctioneers believe it to be C16th century style. The panel is nearly 1" thick, and aged - probably 17c panel?
