Each letter / receipt relates to production of a cigarette card (or Weighing Machine card) that is believed to have been unproduced. Letters generally handwritten from the footballer and giving permission or asking for amendments to the artwork being used for their likenesses. Each letter and receipt comes signed by the relevant footballer. Includes: Leon Leuty, Peter Harris, Neil Franklin, Jimmy Mullen, Walley Barnes, Ted Ditchburn, John Carey, Ronnie Dix, JG Taylor, TG Jones and others. Most stamped with Mardon, Son & Hall 'received' stamps dated 1949.
