An unusual pale oak and brass bound ship's chest, the top bearing brass plaque inscribed 'Presented to the Rt Hon Lord Brassey KCB, to commemorate his circumnavigation of the Globe in his own Yacht Sunbeam' and further inset with a brass plaque of Queen Victoria, with brass countersunk handles, 70.5cm wide.

Appears sturdy, some warping to bottom drawer. Top requires polishing. No signs of repair seen or worm. Measures: 89cm high. 70cm wide, 51cm depth. the finish is the same all over, polish not very deep.
