After Hippolyte-Paul Delaroche (French, 1797-1856)Miniature portrait of Napoleon I in his study, bears the signature 'David' lower right, 19th century, oval 3 ¼ x 2 ½in. (8.2 x 6.3cm.), in a mid-19th century brass wire work frame set with turquoise stones.* After the portrait by Delaroche painted in 1838. **Miniature in good condition. Small spot to surface of paint to left of head. Frame dented at lower edge and upper right and one turquoise missing. Old marbled paper and WW2 period label dated 9/7/43 verso.
