TWO FIRST WORLD WAR PAIRS TO THE ROYAL NAVY. A pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to Surg. Prob. S. B. Borthwick R.N.V.R. Mounted as worn. And a similar pair named to K.46704 SJT Helyear STO 1 R.N. (later issues). Samuel Burnside Borthwick was born at Dennistoun, Glasgow in 1893. He suspended his studies at the outbreak of the War to serve in the Royal Navy. After the conflict he reached the rank of Surgeon Commander. Both mounted for display with copied research.
