Montenegrin Double-action Gasser Revolver, circa 1885, double-action, chambered in 11.3×36mmR, 5 1/2 in. sighted round to octagonal barrel, 5-shot cylinder, closed frame, Pryse break system, decorated nickel finish with polished bone grips and lanyard ring, 10 ½ in. overall, right grip with losses, Pryse leaf-springs weak, actions correctly. As a small country with limited armed forces, in 1910 King Nicholas I proclaimed that all male citizens were to be members of a national militia and must own at least one Gasser revolver. The title 'Montenegrin Gasser' covers a variety of large calibre revolvers of the Gasser pattern. Obsolete calibre; no licence required.
