AN ASH AND ROSEWOOD BANDED DAVENPORT BY GILLOW, mid 19th century, with pierced brass gallery surmount and stringing, the red leather scriver opening to interior with drawers, on ring turned tapering supports, four side drawers with turned wood handles and hinged ink drawer over, pull-out slide opposite over dummy drawers, on bun feet and brass castors, stamped Gillow, 20 1/2" x 22 1/4" x 33" (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)
In need of a little restoration. Leather worn and small shrinkage split, gallery mildly bent at centre and some staining to top, also some losses to cross banding both on top and to the sides. The back appears to have been stained. All handles, locks and castors intact.
